About

Neeraj Gupta embodies a wealth of experience and expertise in the automotive industry. His extensive background in OEMs, combined with his recent role as the Director and Head of Standards and Government Regulations for Africa, India, and Middle East Region, demonstrates his commitment to professional excellence and contribution to sustainable practices.

Neeraj Gupta began his career in the OEM industry in 1992, starting with Eicher Motors Ltd (now called Volvo Eicher commercial vehicles). Over the course of 32 years, he gained valuable experience working at renowned companies, like Eicher Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra, General Motors India and Michelin India.

During his time with various OEMs, Neeraj focused on multiple key areas. He excelled in Product Design, Product Validation, Type Approval and Homologation, Technical Regulations, and Quality Audits. With his expert knowledge and dedication, he contributed significantly to ensuring On Time Homologation and compliance with industry regulations and the development of high-quality products. He was awarded with several Excellence Awards at Eicher Motors and prestigious GM Asia Pacific Presidents Honors Award on more than one occasion for his outstanding and out of box approach to TA/Vehicle Homologation.

In 2014, Neeraj Gupta joined Michelin as Director and Head of Standards and Government Regulations for the Africa, India, and Middle East Region. Additionally, he was responsible for Public Affairs for India and holds expertise in sustainability topics, particularly End of Life tyres. Neeraj’s responsibilities included driving regulatory compliance, harmonizing standards, and actively engaging in discussions surrounding sustainable practices in the tyre industry. He has been instrumental in achieving the impossible for MI (Obtaining Import License or approval to import Tyres – under Restricted category by MoCI), He also actively contributed to drafting National Regulations for Tyres and vehicles.

Neeraj with his agile approach, pleasing personality and great IPR skills is well connected with industry stalwarts, Regulatory Authorities and at Central ministries, helping him navigate challenges with ease ensuring timely delivery at all times.
